The long awaited launch of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme appears to have gone without a hitch...at least, none that have been brought to our attention or reported on the news.

For those of you quick off the mark, getting your claims in by Monday, April 20th, you should be receiving payments this week!

For those of you who have yet to make a claim…why?!  Do so today!  It is a grant, so does not need to be repaid.  HMRC promises that funds will be received 6 working days after your claim has been submitted; provided that it matches records held on your PAYE scheme.

Although employers do not have to pass on the full grant to their employees, as an employer, be kind and do so.  Looking after your most valuable assets (your employees, in case that was in doubt) during difficult times generates loyalty, dedication and hard-work, to be redeemed when you will need them to go the extra mile (or more) for you in the future.

“Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.”— J. R. R. Tolkien

“Loyalty is hard to find.  Trust is easy to lose.  Actions speak louder than words.”
